We see design as a catalyst for exceptional experiences

Design is at the heart of everything we do, from how our customers interact with our products online to the seamless usability of our internal tools. It's not just about making things look good—it's about creating experiences that are intuitive, engaging, and magical.

As our Lead UX Designer, you will be in charge of establishing design as a core competency within Cheffelo. You will define and execute the design strategy across all digital platforms, ensuring a consistent and exceptional user experience, whether customer-facing or internal. Your role is central to our mission of delivering seamless and enjoyable interactions that resonate with our users.

You will build a small, strong design team, setting the direction and raising the bar for design at Cheffelo. In this role, you will have a large impact on the future direction of the product, working closely with skilled PMs, Engineers, and Data professionals.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end UX design process, from user research and concept development to prototyping, testing, and implementation
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, marketing, and other stakeholders to define and deliver user-centered solutions
  • Develop and maintain design systems, ensuring consistency across all digital platforms
  • Conduct user research, including interviews, usability testing, and surveys, to gather insights and drive design decisions
  • Mentor and guide junior designers, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Analyze user data and feedback to identify pain points and opportunities for optimization
  • Stay current on UX trends, tools, and best practices, and proactively bring innovative ideas to the table

We are looking for you with the following qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a designer, working hands on with digital products
  • You are comfortable rolling up your sleeves where needed, be it user research, nitty gritty details in Figma or crafting good user journeys
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in user research, prototyping, and visual design
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions to PMs, Engineers, and others
  • A user-centric mindset with a strong focus on creating accessible and inclusive experiences
  • Relevant academic background. Relevant experience can make up for the lack of an academic background
  • Experience working within e-commerce, subscription models, or similar digital product environments is a plus

This is why you should apply for a position with us:

This is a unique opportunity to be part of building something new and set the direction of design in an established product company. You will work with great colleagues on a very exciting product. As our first in-house designer, you will have significant responsibility and the freedom to chart your own course, contributing directly to the end result.

We offer:

  • Opportunity to shape and influence the digital direction of an iconic product across four brands
  • Opportunity to build something new, establishing design as an in-house competency in a product & design environment
  • A dynamic, creative, and collaborative work environment
  • Professional development opportunities and career growth
  • Newly renovated office, and every Wednesday we gather for a delicious breakfast
  • Competitive salary and benefits package, including a comprehensive health insurance
  • And of course, you will have the option of having our meal boxes delivered at a particularly favourable rate
