Niladri – also called Neal - has been working at Cheffelo since 2020 as our Data Scientist. Originally from India, Neal has a PhD in Bioinformatics from University of Bergen, Norway, and a background both as a researcher and consultant. When he is not busy whipping up matrix like code for ML and AI, he dabbles in a variety of pastimes – art, music, yoga, and athletics. Neal is also certified ALTIS Foundation Coach- so if you are interested in anything related to running, athletics and exercise, he is the go-to guy! Niladri is fluent in 3 languages – Bengali, Hindi and English. He is also proficient in Norwegian, which in turn has opened the world of Swedish and Danish!

Is there anything particular about your job that makes you proud?
Knowing that we are simplifying everyday lives of thousands of families whilst simultaneously taking care of the environment and world at large.
Are there any challenges that you are especially proud to have overcome within the past year?
Working in tech, every day brings with it its own set of challenges and puzzles that one needs to figure out!
But strictly from a professional standpoint - launching the meal selector service that allows customers to tailor their meal kits according to ingredients they like was a major challenge we overcame.
It made us the only one of its kind to offer this level of personalisation to customers - a 100% unique customer-specific meal kit.
What advice would you give to someone who would like to work in your team in the future?
The tech & data landscape is in constant flux, and it is easy to feel overwhelmed. Focus on the essentials!
